Apple iPad 3/iPad HD Will have 1 GB RAM
Less than 24 hours left for Apple iPad 3 event and we are once again here reporting yet another piece of rumor though it is more like finding than rumor. Back in February BoyGeniusReport aka BRG.com had published alleged screenshots of iPad 3 debug screen and based on those screenshots, BRG claimed iPad 3 will have quad core processor and LTE support.
Now based on same screenshots, will from Chronicwire.com has made some calculation to derive the amount of RAM this Apple iPad 3 will sport. From iPad 3 debug screenshot the following piece of information is available,
vm_page_bootstrap: 244276 free pages and 8396 wired pages
And by using following calculation, Chronicwire concluded that iPad 3 will have 1 GB RAM,
244,276 (pages) x 4,096 bytes (size of a page) = 1,000,554,496 bytes = 1GB (rounded)
For information, Apple iPad 2 has 512 MB of RAM, so it perfectly makes sense that Apple will double the RAM size in their upcoming tablet so that it can support full 1080 HD video playback.
As we say take this rumors as a grain of salt, in next 24 hours we will know everything about Apple’s next generation iPad. You can follow Apple iPad 3 event live online.
