iPhone 4S and iPad 2 iOS 5.0.1 Untethered Jailbreak Release Soon
Thanks to Pod2G Chronic Dev Team member we have iOS 5.0.1 untethered Jailbreak for all A4 Devices which includes iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPod Touch 4G, 3G & iPad 1. However iPhone 4S & iPad 2 has yet to see the taste of untethered jailbreak for iOS 5.0.1, but it seems wait won’t be any longer as Pod2G has made some success in getting untethered jailbreak for iOS 5.0.1 on A5 Devices.
Here is latest tweet from Pod2G clamming iPhone 4S & iPad 2 untethered jailbreak on iOS 5.0.1 expected release could be next week.
Until now we have been saying not to update to iOS 5.0.1 at any cost since last untethered jailbreak for iPad 2 was on iOS 4.3.3 and since than it has been long wait for iPad 2 users, on other hand iPhone 4S are still waiting for their first jailbreak. Earlier we had told you that not to update to iOS 5.0.1 if you want untethered jailbreak but now you can go ahead with iOS 5.0.1 update since jailbreak is imminent and Pod2G has also green flag.
Once you update to iOS 5.0.1 make sure you save SHSH blobs for all your iOS devices, despite the mechanism to downgrade firmware after 5.0 has been blocked, iPhone Dev Team and Chronic Dev Team has been working hard to find another way to downgrade and bypass latest Apple security checks.
It would be wise to save SHSH blobs at the moment, also you must note that once you miss iOS 5.0.1 update this moment, you will not be able to update/install iOS 5.0.1 later if Apple decides to release new firmware iOS 5.0.2/5.1 to block untethered jailbreak.
