iOS 6.1 Untethered Jailbreak is Ready and Could be Released Within Week

It has been long that iPhone community has seen untethered jailbreak. Though A4 devices are jailbreaked for life thanks to limera1n bootrom exploit from Geohot but to make it untethered, iPhone hackers still need additional exploits. With the launch of three new devices, iPhone 5, iPad Mini and iPad 3 last year, the work to get jailbreak for all existing as well as new devices has increased by many folds.

Untethered Jailbreak iOS 6.1

Recently we had posted about planetbeing ready with iOS 6.0.2 untethered jailbreak for iPhone 5 but the jailbreak release was kept on hold to avoid losing an exploit for minor iOS release, also iOS 6.1 is already in beta that it makes sense to wait for iOS 6.1 than waste on iOS 6.0.2. In mean time a well-known iPhone hackers Pod2g, Musclenerd, Planetbeing and Pimskeks have come together and formed a new team, Evad3rs with sole aim of getting iOS 6.x untethered jailbreak.

I feel bad for those following fake @ and liking fake FB https://t.co/b3mo5CBr . They're gonna miss the excitement this week.

Finally today we have some good news from newly formed Evad3rs team for iPhone community, Musclenerd has confirmed that iOS 6.1 untethered jailbreak is ready and may get released by next week as soon as Apple releases iOS 6.1 final for public.

@ yes, every other 6.1 device variation will be supported. All TWENTY-TWO of them (omg!). Plus atv2 if it's out in time.

The big news is, iOS 6.1 untethered jailbreak will support all twenty two devices that exists (iPhone 5, iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, iPhone 3gs, iPad 2, the new iPad, iPad 3, iPad Mini, iPod Touch 4G and iPad Touch 5G)and Apple TV 2G if firmware is released on time. However, Apple TV 3G users would be disappointed to know that untethered iOS 6.1 jailbreak will not support Apple TV 3rd Gen.

It is only matter of time that iOS 6.1 untethered jailbreak release as soon as Apple seeds iOIS 6.1 for public.

Updater: iOS 6.1 final is available for download.
