Untethered iOS 6.0.2 Jailbreak for iPhone 5 is ready, says Planetbeing
The jailbreak community is full of extremely talented hackers, since the inception of iPhone jailbreaking, iPhone Dev team and Chronic Dev Team has never ceased to amaze us, every time when we think that now there will be end of the jailbreaking with the new measures that Apple has incorporated in iOS to prevent it, there comes some good news from jailbreak community.
Since the release of iOS 6.0 there has been absolutely no news about possible untethered jailbreak in fact none of the hacker has claimed to be working on iOS 6 untethered jailbreak. The Charlier Miller, a well know security researcher even predicted that iOS 6.0 jailbreak may not exist but Planetbeing made him wrong.
In an thread on Reddit related to Pod2G returning to jailbreak development, Planetbeing reply with following message,
Yeah, I’m not really sure what all the doom and gloom is about. The fact is, I have an untethered iOS 6.0.2 JB running on my iPhone 5 right now. The reasons it’s not released are because 1. releasing it would burn an exploit we want to save for ourselves so we can always get in to look at new firmware and help JB in the future, 2. iOS 6.1 is coming very soon and will likely break a small part of it anyway, there’s no point in sacrificing the many bugs it won’t break.
Anyway, where there are 4+ bugs (that it took to get this to work), there’s gotta be one or two more so while jailbreaking is getting harder, reports of its death are highly exaggerated.
The message is clear, iOS 6.0.2 untethered jailbreak is ready but may not be released as iOS 6.1 is almost here and burning precious exploits on older firmware is useless. It is all about patience and waiting for the right time so that maximum users can enjoy untetherd jailbreak.
