Recently we had posted complete step by step guide on how to jailbreak iOS 6.0.1 tethered on iPhone 4 and iPod Touch 4G. Since this method uses older version of Redsn0w 0.9.15b3 which is yet to be updated to support iOS 6.0.1 tethered jailbreak for pre-A5 devices, we have to rely on iOS 6.0 IPSW for iOS 6.0.1 jailbreak.

Now if you know this then you wouldn’t get any error and you should be able to successfully jailbreak iPhone 4, 3GS or iPod Touch 4G on iOS 6.0.1. But there are many users ending up with following error during iOS 6.0.1 jailbreak,

“Missing Keys.plist data for this build”

The above error also comes up when you attempt to tethered boot your iOS 6.0.1 jailbroken device. The solution to fix this error is simple. All you need to do is select iOS 6.0 IPSW firmware file instead iOS 6.0.1 during iOS 6.0.1 tethered jailbreak or tethered boot using Redsn0w 0.9.15b3 on Windows and Mac.

Fix Missing Keys.plist data for this build Error During iOS 6.0.1 Jailbreak

1. Start Redsn0w 0.9.15b3 (Run as Administrator on Windows)

2. Click on Extras

3. Now click on Select IPSW and browse and select iOS 6.0 firmware.

4. At this stage Redsn0w will identify the firmware build and will notify that it will be used for the rest of this redsn0w session.

5. Click Ok and now you may go ahead with jailbreak or tethered boot.

Please keep in mind you need to do this every time you start Redsn0w 0.9.15b3.
